INFECTION
canvas, original technique, 60x70cm
2023
Infection in this work unfolds not as a medical theme, but as an image of inner contamination, when one force gradually takes over the entire field and alters the very tissue of space. Pink, turquoise, blue, milky white, and acid yellow masses do not collide frontally; they infiltrate one another, forming a viscous, restless environment without stable boundaries. The dark core in the upper part appears to be a source of tension, yet the infection has already spread far beyond it: it moves across the whole surface, leaving behind ruptures, cellular patterns, flashes, clusters, traces of inner decay, and at the same time of unstoppable growth.
What holds me in this image is its doubleness: destruction and attraction arise together. Color here is intensely alive, almost seductive, and that very beauty makes the process more disturbing. Infection does not destroy at once — it enters, occupies, turns what is чужое into its own. The work therefore feels like a state of slow inner takeover, where it becomes impossible to clearly separate the organic from the toxic, or the birth of a new form from its damage. Its force, for me, lies in the fact that it does not illustrate threat, but makes the viewer feel how threat becomes part of life itself.
