INSIDE FIRE
canvas, original technique, 70х60cm
2023
Fire in this work does not flare up as an external effect — it exists as an environment into which the entire image is already immersed. The central vertical form resembles at once a trunk, a stream of molten matter, a column of inner pressure, and a wound through which concealed energy is forced outward. Around it, red, blue, green, ochre, and white layers do not fall into a hierarchy of background and center, but are drawn into a shared combustion: some areas billow, others spread, others sink into a dark, nearly charred depth. The contrast between the liquid white flows below and the dense, heavy, overheated core is especially sharp, as if the space itself were melting from within.
Fire here, for me, is not only destruction, but a form of inner transformation — painful and irreversible. That is why the work is held by a tension between disintegration and rebirth, between landscape and inner state. The image does not describe flame literally; it makes the viewer feel how heat becomes a mode of existence for matter itself. That is what gives it force: within this fire, everything still retains a form, yet can no longer remain the same.
