The title refers to the Japanese practice of repairing ceramics with gold, in which the site of damage is not concealed but emphasized. An ashen grey ground, echoing earlier states within the series, is traced through with gold threads that visually record the lines of fracture. Fragments of red and yellow persist in the lower portion of the composition - residual elements linking the work to earlier stages of the series.

The piece concludes a three-part sequence exploring the transition from destruction to transformation: structural damage is not resolved here but becomes the organizing principle of form, defining the work's final aesthetic.
