ON THE WAY HOME

In this work, what matters to me is not the plot itself, but the feeling of recognition that is hard to distance yourself from. The staircase, the window, the dark figure of the cat — everything seems almost ordinary, yet it is precisely within this everyday scene that inner tension begins to build. I deliberately construct the space so that the upward path does not feel like movement toward resolution. It is rather a route repeated too many times, until it turns into a psychological rhythm.
The yellow light of the window becomes the main magnet here. It promises warmth, return, a familiar point of refuge, yet around it a dense and uneasy atmosphere gathers in red-brown, green, and dark blue masses. The staircase seems to both lead forward and hold back, while the cat on the steps is more than a domestic detail — it is a quiet witness to this cyclical movement. Its small figure gathers the scale of the work and makes the sense of solitude even more tangible.
For me, this piece is about a life that gradually begins to move in circles: home remains a place of attraction, but the road toward it is already filled with fatigue, automatism, and the feeling that tonight is far too similar to yesterday. And still, within that repetition, a light continues to flicker — the reason the movement goes on.
